 CELEBRAZIONE DELLA PENITENZA RITO PER LA RICONCILIAZIONE DI PIÙ PENITENTI CON LA CONFESSIONE E L’ASSOLUZIONE INDIVIDUALE

In the season of Lent the Church, in the name of God, renews the call to conversion. And ‘the call to change his life. Conversion is not a matter of a moment or a year, is a commitment that lasts a lifetime. Who among us can be assumed not to be a sinner? No one. We all are. The Apostle John writes: “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness “(1John 1:8-9). And ‘what happens in our celebration and throughout this day of penance. The Word of God we have heard introduces us to two essential elements of the Christian life.

Nel periodo della Quaresima la Chiesa, a nome di Dio,  rinnova l’appello alla conversione. E’ la chiamata a cambiare vita. Convertirsi non è questione di un momento o di un periodo dell’anno, è impegno che dura tutta la vita. Chi tra di noi può presumere di non essere peccatore? Nessuno. Tutti lo siamo. Scrive l’apostolo Giovanni: «Se diciamo di essere senza peccato, inganniamo noi stessi e la verità non è in noi. Se confessiamo i nostri peccati, egli è fedele e giusto tanto da perdonarci i peccati e purificarci da ogni iniquità» (1 Gv 1,8-9). E’ quello che avviene anche in questa celebrazione e in tutta questa giornata penitenziale. La Parola di Dio che abbiamo ascoltato ci introduce in due elementi essenziali della vita cristiana.

The first was put on the new man. The new man , “ created in God “ (Eph 4:24), was established in baptism, where you receive the very life of God , which makes us his sons and incorporates us into Christ and his Church . This new life allows you to look at reality with different eyes , without being distracted by things that do not matter and can not last long , and from things that end up with time. For this we are called to abandon the behavior of sin and gaze on the essentials. “The man is more precious for what he is than for what he has “ (Gaudium et Spes,35). That’s the difference between life deformed by sin and the grace of the enlightened . From the heart of man renewed according to God come from good behavior : always speak with truth and avoid any lie, not to steal, but rather to share what you have with others, especially with those in need , do not give in to anger, resentment and revenge, but be gentle, magnanimous and ready to forgive , not to fall into backbiting that ruin the good name of the people , but look more to the positive side of each. It is put on the new man, with these new attitudes

Il primo: Rivestirci dell’uomo nuovo. L’uomo nuovo, «creato secondo Dio» (Ef 4,24), nasce nel Battesimo, dove si riceve la vita stessa di Dio, che ci rende suoi figli e ci incorpora a Cristo e alla sua Chiesa. Questa vita nuova permette di guardare alla realtà con occhi diversi, senza più essere distratti dalle cose che non contano e non possono durare a lungo, dalle cose che finiscono con il tempo. Per questo siamo chiamati ad abbandonare i comportamenti del peccato e fissare lo sguardo sull’essenziale. «L’uomo vale più per quello che è che per quello che ha» (Gaudium et spes, 35). Ecco la differenza tra la vita deformata dal peccato e quella illuminata della grazia. Dal cuore dell’uomo rinnovato secondo Dio provengono i comportamenti buoni: parlare sempre con verità ed evitare ogni menzogna; non rubare, ma piuttosto condividere quanto si possiede con gli altri, specialmente con chi è nel bisogno; non cedere all’ira, al rancore e alla vendetta, ma essere miti, magnanimi e pronti al perdono; non cadere nella maldicenza che rovina la buona fama delle persone, ma guardare maggiormente al lato positivo di ognuno. Si tratta di rivestirci dell’uomo nuovo, con questi atteggiamenti nuovi.

The second factor : Remain in my love. The love of Jesus Christ lasts forever, will never end because it is the very life of God This love conquers sin and gives strength to get up and start over, because with forgiveness the heart is renewed and rejuvenated. All we know: our Father never tires of loving and his eyes did not weigh in looking at the way home, to see if his son that he’s gone and we have lost will be restored. We can speak of the hope of God our Father is always waiting for us , not only do we leave the door open , but waiting for us. He is involved in this wait for their children. Father And this does not get tired even to love another child who , though still in the house with him, however, is not a participant in his mercy , his compassion . God is not only the source of love, but in Jesus Christ calls us to imitate his own way of loving : “ As I have loved you, so you also should love one another” (Jn 13:34). To the extent that Christians live this love , they become credible in the world disciples of Christ. Love can not endure to remain locked up in himself. By its very nature is open , it spreads and is fruitful , always generates new love.

Il secondo elemento: Rimanere nell’amore. L’amore di Gesù Cristo dura per sempre, non avrà mai fine perché è la vita stessa di Dio. Questo amore vince il peccato e dona la forza di rialzarsi e ricominciare, perché con il perdono il cuore si rinnova e ringiovanisce. Tutti lo sappiamo: il nostro Padre non si stanca mai di amare e i suoi occhi non si appesantiscono nel guardare la strada di casa, per vedere se il figlio che se n’è andato e si è perduto fa ritorno. Possiamo parlare della speranza di Dio: nostro Padre ci aspetta sempre, non solo ci lascia la porta aperta, ma ci aspetta. Lui è coinvolto in questo aspettare i figli. E questo Padre non si stanca nemmeno di amare l’altro figlio che, pur rimanendo sempre in casa con lui, tuttavia non è partecipe della sua misericordia, della sua compassione. Dio non solo è all’origine dell’amore, ma in Gesù Cristo ci chiama ad imitare il suo stesso modo di amare: «Come io ho amato voi, così amatevi anche voi gli uni gli altri» (Gv 13,34). Nella misura in cui i cristiani vivono questo amore, diventano nel mondo discepoli credibili di Cristo. L’amore non può sopportare di rimanere rinchiuso in se stesso. Per sua stessa natura è aperto, si diffonde ed è fecondo, genera sempre nuovo amore.

Dear brothers and sisters, after this celebration, many of you will propose to other missionaries to the experience of reconciliation with God “24 hours for the Lord” is an initiative which was signed by many dioceses all over the world. To everyone you meet, you will communicate the joy of receiving the Father’s forgiveness and regain full friendship with him and tell them that we expect our Father, our Father forgives us, more partying. If you go to Him with your whole life, even with so many sins, rather than berate a party: this is our Father. This you have to say, say it in so many people today. Who experiences the mercy of God, is driven to be the creator of mercy among the last and the poor. In these “brethren” Jesus waits for us (cf.Mt 25:40), we receive mercy and mercy! Andiamogli meeting and celebrating Easter in the joy of God!

Cari fratelli e sorelle, dopo questa celebrazione, molti di voi si faranno missionari per proporre ad altri l’esperienza della riconciliazione con Dio. “24 ore per il Signore” è l’iniziativa a cui hanno aderito tante diocesi in ogni parte del mondo. A quanti incontrerete, potrete comunicare la gioia di ricevere il perdono del Padre e di ritrovare l’amicizia piena con Lui. E direte loro che nostro Padre ci aspetta, nostro Padre ci perdona, di più fa festa. Se tu vai a Lui con tutta la tua vita, anche con tanti peccati, invece di rimproverarti fa festa: questo è nostro Padre. Questo dovete dirlo voi, dirlo a tanta gente, oggi. Chi sperimenta la misericordia divina, è spinto a farsi artefice di misericordia tra gli ultimi e i poveri. In questi “fratelli più piccoli” Gesù ci aspetta (cfr Mt 25,40); riceviamo misericordia e diamo misericordia! Andiamogli incontro e celebreremo la Pasqua nella gioia di Dio!
